Rotation Eight

Game 1 -  Hot and Cold

Number of Players: 6 or more

Rules

Select an object to hide. Choose one person to be the “seeker” and then send that person out of the room.  Hide the objects in a place that’s difficult, but not too challenging.  The group can help you pick a hiding place. Have the seeker come back into the room. Have the seeker begin looking for the object.  The group then has to help the seeker search by saying “hot” if the seeker is close to the object and “cold” if s/he moves away from the object.

Game 2 -  Ha Ha

Number of Players: 4 or more

Rules

Have everyone lie in a circle with each other’s head on each other’s stomachs.

On ‘go’, the first person will shout ‘HA’ and then it will be repeated one by one clockwise around the circle.  (When you do this everyone’s heads bounce up the person’s stomachs.)

Then shout two ‘HA HA’S’ and go around.  Continue doing this and increase the number of ‘HA’S!’

See if you can get up to 10 HA HA’S without everyone going bananas laughing!

Game 3 -  Lifting Imaginary Objects

Number of Players: 4 or more

Rules

Try to pick up an imaginary object.  It can be something of only a few ounces, or it can weigh thousands of pounds.  If it is big and heavy, the players will need help of all their friends.  They will pick up the objects together and carry them around for a while, then put them down.  Have the players experiment with this newfound strength.

Game 4 -  Mirrors and Shadows

Number of Players: 2 or more

Rules

That's what the wicked queen in the Snow Queen says.  Peter Pan lost his shadow, and Wendy had to sew it back on.  Let's play Mirrors and Shadows.  Choose partners for Mirrors and decide that one will be the mirror and must copy everything his or her partner does. The players must face one another, but they can be standing still or moving around, as long as they stay together in the "mirror" position. In Shadows, one player is behind his or her partner, following every move.  Mirrors and shadows as objects copy us; in this activity we copy a friend, which is much more fun.

Breathing – Hand on chest and stomach. Feel the pressure on the lower hand.

Rhythm – Clapping and add a movement between claps
