Rotation Fourteen
Breathing - On their backs
Rhythm - Student choice and lead
Game 1 - ESP
Number of Players: 2 or more
Rules
Form pairs. Identify three definable and unique physical gestures which reflect your program goals, or any three things such as Happy, Sad, or Shocked. Practice all three gestures several times with your group. Pairs start by standing back to back with their partners. On the count of three, everyone turns around swiftly to face their partner while demonstrating one of three gestures. Each person aims to match the gesture of their partner as often as possible within, say five rounds.
Game 2 - Salt and Pepper
Number of Players: Unlimited
Rules
Ask everyone in your group to stand to one side of a long line marked on the ground. Encourage people to spread themselves evenly along the line, within a foot. Identify one side of the line as 'Salt' and the other as 'Pepper'. Loudly announce a series of calls such as "SALT, PEPPER, SALT, SALT..." Immediately upon each call, each person must jump to the correct side. If an individual makes an error, an example jumps to the wrong side of the line, they are eliminated. Each person aims to stay in the game for as long as possible. The last person remaining wins. Variations: Form pairs, and instruct all moves must be made with a partner (often facing each other and holding hands). If one or both make a mistake and an error, then the both are eliminated.
Game 3 - Applause
Number of Players: Unlimited
Rules
Ask for a volunteer to leave the room while instructions are given to the group.
The group is to select one person who will be the star. That is the person who the volunteer will be looking for upon returning to the room.
The participants are to spread themselves around the room, either on chairs or on the floor, covering as much space as possible.
When the volunteer returns, the volunteer should move from person to person trying to locate the star.
The clue to whether the volunteer is getting closer will be by the applause that the group provides as the volunteer gets closer and closer to the star.
If the volunteer is cold and move away, then the clapping should decrease or cease.
As soon as the star is found, a real star can be flashed (made out of construction paper or tagboard). Then the star leaves the room and the group selects another star.
