Math Counting (Multiples) Partner Counting. Clapping as a group to desired number. Add a partner and alternate count. Change partners.
Play + Connect Activity
Establish an imaginary line which extends between two ends of a spectrum. Pose a question or scenarios inviting each person to consider their preferred response. Invite people to stand along a line that best represents their preference. Option: have them share with people close to them. Examples: leader or follower, cat or dog, sour or sweet, or work outdoors or indoors.
Breathing Exercise Options:
Belly Breathing
5 belly breaths with mouth closed and hands on belly. Goal is to get students to breathe through nose and use their diaphragm. There should be very little movement of the chest and the belly should move in and out. Can do several rounds of this activity.
Accordion Breathing
5 belly breaths with mouth closed and hands on sides of lower ribs. Goal is to get students to breathe through nose and use their diaphragm. There should be very little movement of the chest and the students should feel movement outward on the inhale. Can do several rounds of this activity.
Learn + Grow Activity
This would be a great way to discuss the differences in fact and opinion. You could use this game to show where the class stands on different topics and get to know their classmates better.
Reflect Activity
Were you able to accept other’s peoples choices that were different than yours? Were you able to find people that had something in common with you?
Variations
Give students a chance to come up with choices. Use topics from a subject in class.
